National Guide Website Refresh

Case Study

Overview

Duklas Cornerstone Consulting Inc. (DCC Inc.) proudly partnered with the Pan-Canadian Consortium on Admissions and Transfer (PCCAT) and the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC) to deliver a full-scale refresh of the ARUCC PCCAT Transcript and Transfer Guide website: www.guide.arucc.pccat.ca. This project represented the second major phase of development for this nationally significant resource, which DCC originally designed and launched in 2015.

“The collaboration with Duklas Cornerstone Consulting Inc. has once again resulted in a national resource that reflects the priorities and needs of our sector. Their expertise, strategic guidance, and thoughtful approach ensured the refreshed Guide remains an essential tool for supporting ease of access to shared information regarding transcript standards and transfer terminology and definitions, supporting best practices and learner mobility across Canada. We are grateful for their continued partnership and dedication as we work to provide relevant and accessible resources to our community.”

Scope of Work:

In this most recent project phase, DCC Inc. led a comprehensive modernization effort which included:

  • Domain Migration: Supporting the seamless movement of the old site to the new domain.
  • New Website Design: Creating a contemporary, responsive design aligned with accessibility best practices and modern UX standards.
  • Redesigned Search Functionality: Improving the existing search tool to enhance usability, search precision, and overall site engagement.
  • Page Layout Refresh: Updating the layout and structure of all pages for improved clarity, user flow, and content presentation.
  • Collaborative Approach: Working closely with PCCAT and the national volunteer guide working group, which included representatives from post-secondary institutions and regulatory bodies across Canada.

Historical Context – Phase One (2015):

DCC Inc. was the original architect of the ARUCC PCCAT Guide website, launched in 2015. At that time, our team led national consultations and research efforts to secure consensus on new, pan-Canadian transcript and transfer standards—marking a first for Canada. Informed by extensive community input, DCC wrote the content for the guide and designed the entire content architecture, user interface, and search capability for the original site, laying a solid foundation for this key educational resource.

Outcome:

This latest refresh modernizes a critical tool for students, institutions, and administrators navigating credit transfer and transcript standards across Canada. It reflects DCC Inc.’s deep experience in higher education, digital strategy, stakeholder collaboration, and meaningful communications in the post-secondary sector.

Ongoing Communications and Client Support:

DCC Inc. supports all of its clients with extensive communications work across its various projects. From strategic messaging and stakeholder engagement to content development and branding alignment, our approach ensures that communications collateral, plans and digital tools are not only technically sound but also effectively serving each client’s broader change transformation efforts and communication goals.
