DCC Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Duklas, president of DCC Inc., executive lead for ARUCC MyCreds™ Network, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Digital Identity Lab (ID Lab). This federally incorporated, not-for-profit organization brings together public and private entities to accelerate the adoption of user-centric digital identity solutions by promoting standards and interoperability.
“It’s critical that those of us with broad and deep expertise in higher education contribute their volunteerism to the digital ecosystem conversations beyond the typical education spheres,” says Duklas. “Industry, banks, and governments are leading the charge in yet another slice of the digital identity space but at times doing so differently than those of us active in the education interoperability and standards space. Too often, we operate in silos which actually can become a disservice to our communities. I’m pleased to advance collaborative conversations at yet another level to support learners.”
Joanne is representing the academic community in this new board role. Joanne is a former registrar and assistant vice president with her own research and consulting firm in higher education. She is a published author several times over with extensive expertise in higher education. In addition to serving as a past president of ARUCC (2012), she has served as president of a provincial registrars association, sat as a member on the advisory board of the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre, and provided her expertise as a volunteer member to support organizations like TAICEP, the Groningen Declaration Network, and the American based Postsecondary Electronic Standards Council (PESC).
