Considering the importance of admissions policy and access for Saskatchewan Polytechnic

February 12, 2021

From January through to December 2020, DCC Inc. supported Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s admissions governance committee and academic provostial office with the review, investigation, and crafting of a final report and draft policy to revision its First Qualified, First Admitted policy framework. Joanne Duklas was the primary investigator for this initiative, working closely with Dr. Barb Gustafson, acting special advisor to the provost and supported by DCC Inc’s own Anna Foshay (now retired).

The project involved a policy and procedural review, an environmental scan, a national survey, and subsequent analysis. The final deliverable was a comprehensive policy report that subsequently went with associated recommendations to the Institute’s academic council for approval. Joanne and Anna worked in close collaboration directly with the Saskatchewan Polytechnic academic council committee chaired by Dr. Gustafson through a generative policy review process.

The DCC Inc. team is proud that outcomes of this research are now published on the national registrars’ website to support knowledge mobilization and sharing with the national community.
